Arizona Specific Instructions

For 2026, the lunar in Arizona and New Mexico windows are as follows (preferred dates are underlined):

 

Lower Elevations (LENI) 

  • Western & southern desert regions: 23 April – 9 May or 23 May – 8 June.

High elevations (MEPW, CONI)

  • Northern & >5,000 ft. in Southeast: 23 May – 8 June or 21 June – 7 July.

The sun must have set and the moon must at least be 50% illuminated and visible and/or above the horizon.
